Sestri Levante to Punta Manara

Rain today, but that doesn't stop hikers from rainy places like British Columbia or Holland! We decided to go for a hike every Wednesday, and so here we go, whatever the weather!!!

The only one with any doubts about walking in the drizzle is Krista, whose last place of abode before Chiavari was dry San Diego...

This week we continue on from Sestri Levante, where we ended our walk last Wednesday, to Punta Manara. The path is steep and slippery but we press on and are rewarded by views of the Baia del Silenzio in the mist, of olive trees with brightly coloured nets stretched out between their twisted trunks to catch the ripe blue olives, of a deep green sea and the shipyards of Riva Trigoso. Maybe next week we'll hop over to there and continue our walk along the coast... hoping for better weather!

Lunch today is at Asia, where we are practically the only customers... is it the weather, the time of year, or the recession that's keeping everyone else away from these delicious seafood ravioli?
